I was given the amazing opportunity to test out five products from the NuCerity skincare line, including their famous “Skincerity” product, and I thought I’d share my thoughts about them here! The lovely lady who introduced me to this skincare line is named Dawn, and I will leave her information at the end of this post in case you wish to contact her. She was incredibly helpful and thorough, and with her package of skincare she included multiple notes and guides that explained the products and the best way to use them. If you are looking to try out any of the NuCerity products, I strongly recommend you purchase them through her!
I tested out five products over the course of about three weeks: the Body Silk, the Rejuvenating Barrier, the Eye Effects 3, the Peptide Plus Moisturizer, and the Skincerity mask. Each are packaged in boxes with a different colour accent on them, which is a little detail that I absolutely loved. All of the products have natural ingredients in them, and none of them are artificially scented, which is something that I really appreciate.
I’ll start with the Peptide Plus Moisturizer. This is a product that claims to have “an anti-aging complex that delivers instant hydration to help smooth and enhance skin tone, and reduce the look of fine lines and other visible signs of aging”. While I definitely don’t have many signs of aging showing (I’m only 18!), I have found that this is a very nice moisturizer. It’s thick, but not greasy, and it absorbs into the skin very quickly. I have found that it has made my skin a bit smoother and softer. I use this at night and I quite enjoy it!
The next product is the Eye Effects 3 Advanced Serum. The claim on this product is that it “targets the eye zone’s 3 critical signs of aging: crow’s feet, puffy bags, and dark circles”. Again, while I don’t have many of these signs of aging to target, I do hope that this product will help to prevent them in the future. While this is the product that I have seen the least amount of change from, I still enjoy using it at night, because it gives my undereye area a bit of moisture and reduces the puffiness slightly. I also loved that this came with an eye dropper to dispense the product – this felt very hygienic to me.
I’ll talk about the Body Silk next. This is supposed to be a “spa treatment in a bottle”, and is a product that deeply hydrates, softens, and illuminates the appearance of skin and hair. It is a multi-purpose product that can be used all over the body, and the texture is that of an oil. I haven’t used this as much as the other products, but I have been trying it out on various dry patches on my arms and legs, and I have found that I really enjoy it underneath my regular moisturizer. It delivers a little bit of added hydration that really helps my dry-as-the-sahara-desert skin. 🙂
The fourth product is called the Skin-Nutrition Rejuvenating Barrier. This is a “water-based skin barrier that creates soft, hydrated skin while providing an oil-free barrier of protection”. I was told that this worked really well as a primer under makeup, because it helps to keep dirt and oils out, and locks hydration in. I quite like this underneath my foundation, because it is completely weightless, so I don’t even feel that it is on my face, but it still helps to lock in my moisturizer and keep my skin feeling soft throughout the day. This product also came with an eye dropper, which, again, I really liked.
The final product is undoubtedly NuCerity’s most famous product. Skincerity is “the world’s only breathable masque that holds in the body’s natural moisture”. This is a roll-on mask that one uses nightly over top of any other skincare products, and it is meant to improve the overall appearance of the skin and make the products that you are already using work better, and faster. This is a really interesting product in that it is a mask that the user can leave on overnight without worrying about breaking out. I noticed an immediate difference after the first night – my skin immediately felt smoother and softer. After using this for a matter of a few weeks, I did experience a breakout on my forehead, but it cleared up soon after. This product is also effective on sunburns and mosquito bites.
If you are to try this product, know that it contains a small amount of acetone (not enough to harm the skin, and not the kind that is in nail polish remover!) so it has a very strong smell when first applied. However, as it dries on the skin, the smell completely vanishes. As I said, this is a very interesting product, but it is very effective in rejuvenating the skin and making it smoother, softer and brighter. It also comes with a small cloth to help remove the mask in the mornings.
