After it snowing sideways last week, it’s really exciting to see the warm weather starting to come in, and with that comes more events in Calgary! I thought I’d let you know about a few of them that I’ll be participating in.
On Thursday, May 22nd and Friday, May 23rd, I will be volunteering at the Calgary International Children’s Festival! On the first day I’ll be greeting guests and helping take them to where they need to be, and on the second day I’ll be helping kids make puppets. I can’t wait to be a part of this really fun event. If you’re wondering, the festival runs for four days and includes numerous presentations, plays, and activities for children to participate in. It’ll be a really fun atmosphere and a really exciting couple of days! To learn more, visit the Children’s Festival website here.
On Sunday, May 25th, I’ll be helping out at the Lilac Festival. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing there, but I’m sure it’ll be fun! This year the Lilac Festival is celebrating their 25th anniversary, and the event marks the start of festival season. It will feature a parade, musical entertainment, vendors, and more, and it is completely free to attend. They claim to have an activity for everyone, and I don’t think this is an event to miss. Concluding this round of appearances is a day spent with the Calgary Marathon. Though I have to get up around 5am for this event, I’m pretty excited about it because I’m working with the team that is handing out medals at the finish line! I can’t wait to congratulate all of the incredible runners who are doing the marathon – I could never do something that awesome. The Marathon is also celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year, which is a huge milestone. Click here to visit the Calgary Marathon’s website.
Lastly I’d like to give a shoutout to my newest sponsors! I’ve had a few amazing businesses support me over the past couple of weeks and I can’t thank them enough.
